| DISCUSSION: There has been a great deal of recent media attention regarding the turn of the century (year 2000, Y2k, etc.) and the effect it will have on computers that have used two digit calender year coding in their programming. Questions are arising regarding computers used in automotive applications and the effect year 2000 will have on them. Two digit calender year codes have not been used in any Chrysler automotive onboard applications and no problems related to use of two digit coding for calender years are anticipated. |
