THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION

A squeak noise nay occur when shifting into or out of a gear. The noise is ccming fran where the select shift cable attaches to the gear shift lever.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LUBRICATE THE SHIFTER PIN TO ELIMINATE THE SQUEAK NOISE. PETROLEUM BASED LUBIRCANTS WILL REDUCE THE DURABILITY OF THE CABLE ISOLATOR.

If a subject vehicle exhibits this condition, replace the shifter assertly using the procedure outlined in the appropriate service manual. The correct part numbers for the shifter assertly are listed below:
