THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 23-65-94, DATEDSEPTEMBER 2, 1994 WHICH SHOULD BE NOTED IN THE 1994 TECHNICAL SERVICEBULLETIN MANUAL (PUBLICATION NUMBER 81-699-95054). THE SEBRINGCONVERTIBLE HAS BEEN ADDED AND THE REPAIR INFORMATION HAS BEENMODIFIED. ALL CHANGES ARE MARKED WITH **ASTERISKS**

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Painted surfaces of the vehicle that are covered for extended periods of time with front endcovers (Bras) or magnetic signs may appear to have a white "milky" or "fogged" discoloration

NOTE: WHEN USING A FRONT END COVER OR MAGNETIC SIGN, FOLLOW ALL MANUFACTURER'S PRECAUTIONS AS THEY RELATE TO MOISTURE UNDER THESE ITEMS.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves drying the painted surface of the vehicle where the "fogging"condition is located The following procedure should be followed to restore the paintedsurface to its original clarity

NOTE: IF THE AFFECTED AREA INVOLVES THE HOOD, REMOVE THE HOODNAMEPLATE/BADGE BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE REPAIR.

1 Wash the affected area with mild soap and water Spot clean any areas to remove anydifficult dirt, tar, bugs, etc.
2. Place a paint repair type heat source, such as an Infra Red lamp, approximately 12 inchesfrom the affected area. A target surface temperature of 180 degrees to 200 degreesF. is desirable.
NOTE: DO NOT APPLY HEAT ABOVE 200 DEGREES F. TO ANY PLASTIC PARTS.
3. Heat the affected area for a period of time to eliminate the "fogging". Usually this is between fifteen to forty minutes. The amount of time is dependent upon the shape of the affected area and the severity of the fogging condition.
4. Replace the hood nameplate/badge if removed.
5. ** If this procedure does not correct the condition, color-coat paint repair will be necessary. Refer to the Front Wheel Drive Labor Operation Time Schedule for paint repairs. **

**NOTE: THE OWNER SHOULD BE CAUTIONED AGAINST USING THE PRODUCT,OR A SIMILAR PRODUCT, THAT CREATED THE PAINT "FOGGING".**
