DISCUSSION:
Neons built at the Toluca Assembly Plant are coated with a sealer to protect the vehicle exterior while in transit. Only those vehicles identified by a Warning label in the windshield have this coating.

This material covers all horizontal surfaces, bumpers, fascias and portions of the upper vertical surfaces of the vehicle. The finish of the vehicle appears rough or wavy. This coating should be removed as soon as possible after delivery of the vehicle to your dealership. However, normal washing of the vehicle will NOT remove the coating material.

A 24 oz. container of coating remover is included in the glove compartment of each vehicle. If the coating remover cannot be located in the vehicle, it is available through Moparparts, P/N 4640808. Previously released In-Transit Coating Remover must not be used for thisnew type coating. The following removal procedure is to be followed.

**NOTE: THE WHITE TAPE COVERING THE PARK/TURN LAMPS SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED UNTIL THE COMPLETE IN-TRANSIT COATING REMOVAL PROCEDURE HAS BEEN COMPLETED.**
IN-TRANSIT COATING REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Pre-rinse the entire surface of the vehicle with water to remove any accumulatedparticles and/or other debris from the coating surface to prevent scratching thefinish.

NOTE: FOLLOW ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND WEAR THE RECOMMENDEDGEAR AS INDICATED ON THE COATING REMOVER CONTAINER.

2. Dilute the coating remover (one part remover to sixparts water) or one 24 oz. of remover to one gallon ofwater.

**NOTE: THE COATING REMOVER MUST BE DILUTED, NEVER USE ATFULL STRENGTH OR DAMAGE MAY OCCUR TO PLASTICPARTS.**

3. Apply the mixture liberally to the entire surface of thevehicle. A soft sponge or cotton wash mit may be used totransfer the mixture to the coated surfaces of thevehicle, but contact with the surface and pressure onthe sponge or wash mit should be minimized.

4. Allow the remover to remain on the vehicle forapproximately 1-2 minutes to break down the coating viachemical action.

NOTE: DO NOT ALLOW THE REMOVER TO DRY. THE ENTIRE SURFACE MUSTREMAIN WET DURING THE SOAK PERIOD.

5. After the soak time, rinse the vehicle thoroughly usingfresh water from a hose equipped with a spray nozzle. Payparticular attention to areas where removal solution couldbe trapped, such as behind mirrors, side moldings, andbody crevasses.

6. Check vehicle for any remaining coating. Repeat removalprocedure on those areas only.

7. When the removal process is complete, thoroughly rinse thevehicle with clean water. Use a towel or chamois and wipethe vehicle dry to prevent water spotting.
