One of the design features of the new Neon is the sloping aerodynamic windshield. The amount of reflected light from the top of the instrument panel is increased as a result of this design. The surface of the instrument panel has been designed to reduce the amount of reflected glare. It meets a controlled color and gloss requirement.

The use of "protectants" or other glossing agents on the instrument panel surface are not recommended. They leave a glossy film upon application and become a source of increased windshield glare. Use mild soap and warm water or non-streak glass cleaner, such as Mopar Glass Cleaner, P/N 4318014 for cleaning or restoration of the finish.
