| DISCUSSION: Some vehicles may blow fine white
flakes from the instrument panel and defrost vents when
the climate control fan is turned on. These flakes are
residue of sodium silicate, which is used to coat the A/C
evaporator to enhance its corrosion protection. If
excessive amounts of coating are applied during the
manufacturing process, there is a tendency for the extra
coating to flake off. |
